Christian Education
St. Thomas offers a
diverse program providing Christian Education opportunities for all ages.
Classes for children 3 and up are Sunday's at 9:15 a.m. Our purpose is to
nurture persons to grow in love, faith, and grace, equipping them for
daily Christian living as they serve to meet the human needs, hurts and
pains; and to provide groups and opportunities in training and learning
experiences using the Bible, theology, history, and other resources in
life situations.
Longer-Later Catechism
Program
"Confirmation is a part of the total educational
process"
Students participate in the catechism program during the Christian Education Hour every
Sunday morning beginning at age three and continuing through graduation.
However, the program actually begins at baptism.
Various program and "Faith Journey" milestones are marked throughout
the student's life such as receiving the Sacrament of Holy
Communion for the first time in 5th grade and Affirmation of Baptism,
or, Confirmation, after 10th grade. St. Thomas
is a strong supporter of the Faith In the Home initiative and encourages
parents to read the Bible, pray and learn together with their
children in the home.
Vacation Bible School
For those ages 3 and up is offered each summer in cooperation with
St. Paul United Methodist Church.
